Full-time postdoc position at the Helmut-Schmidt-University in Hamburg (Germany)

we are offering a position and invite possible candidates to submit an application for a full-time postdoc position in optimization for Vehicle Routing Problems at  
the Logistics-Management Department, Helmut-Schmidt-University, Hamburg, Germany.Qualifications
The prospective candidate must hold a PhD in computing, engineering, operations research or a related area. We are looking for a candidate with an  
appropriate publication record, programming experience and skills in optimization methods, such as e.g. metaheuristics. Further, the post-doctoral  
researcher should be fluent in written as well as spoken English and has the capacity to work towards objectives and deadlines.

Scientific environment
The campus of the Helmut-Schmidt University provides an excellent research environment. Furthermore, the accepted candidate will join a successful team  
which is active in the scientific community. Our research activities lie in combinatorial optimization, rich vehicle routing problems, interactive

Responsibilities
The main responsibility is research with no teaching obligations. One of the major goals is to submit a research proposal to the German Research  
Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)) at the end of this year/ early beginning of next year. In the case of an accepted proposal, the  
duration of the position can be extended. Furthermore, we want to work on challenging Vehicle Routing Problems and plan to publish good papers  
together.

The full-time position is open from July 01, 2017 and the funding lasts until June 30, 2018.
